The Big South-OVC announced its weekly Football honors and Tennessee State return specialist/running back was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Down 21-0, Evans’ 98-yard kickoff return in the second quarter, which was tied for the 10th longest such play in FCS this season, put Tennessee State on the board for the first time on the evening, trimming the deficit to 21-7. It was the senior’s second straight game with a kickoff return for a touchdown; Evans had a 99-yard return against Howard that swung the momentum back in the Tigers’ favor following a Bison touchdown that cut the TSU lead to 20-14.

Evans leads the Big South-OVC with 44.4 yards per return, which is 16.2 yards more than the conference’s second most proficient returner, Tennessee Tech Tremel Jones, and is one of just five players in the nation with two kickoff returns this season.
